Mezzo-soprano Abigail Nims has quickly established herself as a musician of integrity and versatility through her performances of repertoire spanning from Bach, Handel, and Mozart to Crumb, Ligeti, and contemporary premieres. In the 16/17 Season Ms. Nims will be performing Handel’s ‘Messiah’ with the Naples Philharmonic and Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Mahler’s 2nd Symphony with the Duluth Superior Symphony and Dvorak’s Stabat Mater with the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park. Engagements during the 2015-16 season include Mozart’s Requiem with the Midland-Odessa Symphony; and the Messiah and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Golden Ticket, a comic opera based on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, was commissioned by American Lyric Theater and Felicity Dahl from American composer Peter Ash and British librettist Donald Sturrock. Dahl's fantastic imagination is vividly brought to life in the witty libretto, and the completely original score ingeniously parodies many traditional operatic conventions to help portray the bigger than life characters that inhabit Wonka's world.
