Recently praised for her “ripe mezzo of polished sheen and warmth”, mezzo-soprano Claire Shackleton is gaining recognition for her colorful tone and magnetic stage presence. Her performances during the 2012-13 season included Prince Charming in Cendrillon with Kentucky Opera and the Santa Fe Concert Association, Siébel in Faust with Austin Lyric Opera, and Mrs. Soames in Our Town with Central City Opera, where she was a member of the Apprentice Artist Program. For the 2013-14 season she returns to her hometown of New Orleans for her first performances of Angelina in La Cenerentola with Opera Louisiane.
