Recently praised for her “smooth ripe mezzo … with a luxurious lower-middle and effortlessly floated top” (Opera Today), Claire Shackleton is gaining recognition for her colorful tone and magnetic stage presence. Recent successes include her debut with Hawaii Opera Theater as Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Maddalena in Rigoletto with the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, and Jackie Kennedy in the orchestra workshop of David T. Little and Royce Vavrek’s opera JFK.

She has performed as Mercédès in Carmen with New Orleans Opera; Annio in La clemenza di Tito with Opera in the Heights (NYC); Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Nazos with the Pacific Opera Project; Prince Charming in Cendrillon with Kentucky Opera and the Santa Fe Concert Association; Siébel in Faust with Austin Lyric Opera; Angelina in La Cenerentola with Opera Louisiane; and Jenny in The Threepenny Opera with Amarillo Opera.
