Recently praised for her “ripe mezzo of polished sheen and warmth”, mezzo-soprano Claire Shackleton is gaining recognition for her colorful tone and magnetic stage presence. Her appearances during the 2014-2015 season include Mercédès in Carmen with New Orleans Opera, her first performances of Annio in La clemenza di Tito with Opera in the Heights, Bach’s Mass in B-minor with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Elijah with the South Dakota Symphony, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Bozeman and Wyoming Symphonies.
