Los Angeles based Troupe Vertigo was founded in 2009 by Aloysia Gavre {Cirque du Soleil} & her husband Rex Camphuis {Pickle Circus}. Their commitment to create work that is an eclectic and refreshing mix of Circus-Dance-Theater encapsulates the imagination in mentally and physically spell-binding ways as with their current show Tableaux. Previous shows include Nighthawks: a Film Noir Circus and collaborations with bands The Tin Hat Trio and Nightmare & The Cat including performances at The Ford Amphitheater, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and TEDx Talk/USC among others. Additional creations include shows for Philly Pops and choreography/coaching for films Water for Elephants and Pitch Prefect 2, lectures for TED Talk at USC, PBS- A Symphonic Adventure, The Center Theater Group, Directors Lab, Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival. Troupe Vertigo is also home to CIRQUE SCHOOL- for Anybody with Any Body, which uses training, performance, and community outreach to nurture an appreciation for the circus arts in a supportive, non-competitive environment. CIRQUE SCHOOL, located in Hollywood, offers over 50 classes a week to the general public as well as pre-professional training, coaching and choreography for film and television and a rehearsal/performance space for other like minded companies in their 6000 sq. ft. warehouse.
