“If there was a winner for the evening it was baritone Jerett Gieseler who was uppermost in his dramatic flare. He has a powerful voice and he uses excellent phrase breathing. He covers dramatic phrases perfectly so that they give the listener ‘goosebumps’.” “.....but the real event was last night's concert. I've been to many (maybe 5 or 6) of the Emerging Singers Concerts over these many years, but I'm not sure I have heard any to equal that one. At such events one guesses which of the young singers might make it to the Met as a headliner. My pick last night was the baritone, Jerett Gieseler, who sang arias from "Dutchman" and "Parsifal." He's ready for prime time now.” “Baritone Jerett Gieseler displayed a warm baritone and showed that singing is at the center of La Traviata." “Baritone Jerett Gieseler was Alfredo’s father Giorgio Germont. Gieseler has a fine stage presence, and a voice of great dignity and lyrical intensity." “Baritone Jerett Gieseler was best overall in voice, style and dramatic effect with his "Das Rheingold" which was even topped by his second presentation of "Parsifal."
