Donald Westwood is Executive Vice-President and Creative Director for American International Music Management (AIM Management), Producer and Stage Director for the Belleayre Festival Opera (Belleayre Music Festival in New York), and Artistic Director of the Jacksonville Lyric Opera. Mr. Westwood is Executive Producer and Associate General Manager for AIM Management’s production of OKLAHOMA! This production will tour the United States and Canada September 2010 – January 2011 under the auspices of Columbia Artists Theatricals (CAT).

In a career approaching four decades, Mr. Westwood has capitalized, produced, directed, managed, and marketed more than 200 productions – opera, operetta, musical theatre, concerts, special events, and programs for young audiences and senior citizens. These include numerous national tours and regional productions, among them four national tours for Columbia Artists Management, Inc. (CAMI).

Current projects include Rossini’s LA CENERENTOLA and the Children’s Opera Theatre production of THREE LITTLE PIGS for Belleayre (August 2010) and THE BEST OF BROADWAY for Jacksonville (October 2010). For Season 2009-2010, Mr. Westwood produced FIDDLER ON THE ROOF for AIM Management, LA CENERENTOLA for Jacksonville, and DIE FLEDERMAUS for both Belleayre and Jacksonville. Other recent productions include VIENNA TO BROADWAY, LA BOHEME, THE MERRY WIDOW, PAGLIACCI, Sondheim’s INTO THE WOODS and OPERA UNDER THE STARS in Las Vegas.

Donald Westwood’s productions have been called “exemplary” by THE NEW YORK TIMES, “very special” by the NEW YORK POST, and “a welcome addition to this city’s music” by NEW YORK Magazine. OPERA NEWS Magazine has recognized Mr. Westwood’s work as “a dynamic alternative to the giants at Lincoln Center.” JACKSONVILLE Magazine has noted, “Don Westwood aspires to provide the highest quality. And he has.”

In addition to his regular work, Mr. Westwood was a music critic for OPERA NEWS Magazine from 1994 through 2002, reviewing performances at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Avery Fisher Hall, among numerous other venues in New York City and throughout the Northeast.

Donald Westwood is a cum laude graduate of Pace University in New York City, attending the University on full academic scholarship. He has been Pace University’s Alumnus of the Year and recipient of the University’s Fine Arts Award and Student Government Award. He has continued his education with business courses at Pace University and New York University. In August 2008, Mr. Westwood received the Board of Directors Award from the Belleayre Music Festival, commemorating his ten years of service to the Festival.
